Meeting for Feburary was conducted via online meeting application, ZOOM.COM, and was hosted by S/M Branch President Len Barrett. 15 shipmates including NWRP Danny Hunt checked in and participated.
1905 Opening Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, and Preamble.
The minutes were called and approved as previously submitted via newsletter.
Committee Reports:
Legislative: S/M Fugich highlighted bills that the Veterans Legislative Coalition in Olympia is tracking that are Veteran related.
Veteran suicide rates up from 22 to 28 a day.
S/M NWRP Danny Hunt expressed that communications within the Branch is paramount. Check on your Shipmates especially during this period when everyone is shut in.
Youth Activities: NTR.
Americanism/Patriotism: Award certificates completed for Branch winners of essay contest by S/M Johnson. Awaiting judging from Region. Resending Branch award winners to S/M Peters.
Membership: 95 members in good standing. “Ready to Renew”: Eagan, Ehrman, Luton, Manwiller, Plattner, and Williams.
Public Relations: Newsletter. Website up to date. Facebook page is active.
Finance and Audit: Back and forth on presentation of budgets in the newsletter. Nothing resolved. Push to Board of Directors meeting.
Health and Welfare: Binnacle list: S/M Len Barrett, Bill Casto, Doug Eller, Cliff Magnussen, Alvie Robbins, Jorge Ramirez, Tom Shriver and Jim Wallace.
Get your COVID vaccines.
VAVS: S/M Felthouse – delivered two large packages of paper towels for homeless Veterans at American Lake. FRA was the only one responding to the above request. COVID Vaccinations through VA Puget Sound, call (206) 716-5716 to get scheduled at Seattle, American Lake, or CBOC.
Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Federal Was has closed.
Communications: (1) FRA Membership Newsletter; 34,000 FRA members nationwide. We need to recruit new members.
Treasurers Report: Submitted via Newsletter. Treasurers report approved.
Unfinished Business: (1) Regional Convention which Branch 104 is scheduled to sponsor. (2) Tiny Homes - WA Soldiers Home at Orting. Set of pots and pans donated by Costco.$150.00 previously allocated returned to funds.
New Business: NTR.
