Meeting for November was conducted via online meeting application, ZOOM.COM, and was hosted by S/M Branch President Len Barrett. Following Shipmates checked in and participated in the meeting: Bill Casto, Rex Faubion, Don Felthouse, Joe Jiminez, Jim Jones, John Johnson, Russ Peters, Alvie Robbins, Tom Shriver, Dan Stalling, Jim Wallace and Rich Wilson.
1907 Opening Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, and Preamble.
The minutes were called and approved as previously submitted via newsletter.
Committee Reports:
Legislative: S/M Fugich was appointed as Chairman of Governors Veterans Advisory Committee.
Youth Activities: NTR.
Americanism/Patriotism: Essay contest ended on 01 DEC. Branch received 09 essays for contest entries. Majority of entries from Homeschool students. Judging to be scheduled after first of the year. Entries have to be at Region by 01 FEB. Branch 104 received a First Place Ribbon in Group IV for Americanism Patriotism for 2019-2020 from National.
Membership: 94 members in good standing. Newest Life Member Jim Wallace. “Ready to Renew”: Barger, Burdette, Luton, and Peters. S/M Carl Leaf passed away on 29 NOV.
Public Relations: Newsletter. Website up to date. Facebook page is active.
Finance and Audit: Looking good.
Health and Welfare: Binnacle list: S/M Doug Eller, Bill Casto, Alvie Robbins, Cliff Magnussen, John Johnson and Jorge Ramirez. Sympathy card sent to Mrs. Patricia Leaf.
VAVS: S/M Felthouse dropped off razors and toiletries to American Lake He will be collecting sleeping bags and tarps for delivery to American Lake to support Homeless Veterans programs. Meet him at VFW Post 2224 on Wednesday, 16 DEC 1100-1300 for anyone wanting to drop off donations. Letter of designation appointing S/M Jiminez as the Assistant VAVS representative has been received from National.

Treasurers Report: Submitted via Newsletter. Treasurers report approved.
Unfinished Business: (1) 2020 Branch Christmas Breakfast previously tabled; motion made to cancel. Approved.
New Business: (1) Bylaw change recently passed by the Board of Directors was discussed. Change basically aligns our bylaws with National in setting the fiscal year for accounting purposes to 01 JAN to 31 DEC. M/S/Passed to approved change. (2) Proposal from the Board of Directors to adopt last years budget to carry forward into 2021 with same values as 2020. Current budget will end on 31 DEC 2020. M/S/Passed to approve. (3) Motion to set aside $600.00 in donations at $50.00 monthly in 2021 budget for the Puyallup Food Bank. (4) Motion was made to donate $150.00 to Navy and Marine Corps Relief in the area. Approved to donate to Navy Relief – Bremerton. This will come out of the 2020 budget. (5) Treasurer discussed 11 month CD ready to renew.
Good of the Order: (1) S/M Jiminez attended latest VAVS meeting. They discussed need for music CD’s to replenish the library in the Community Living Center at American Lake. Donations can be brought to the VFW on Wednesday, 16 DEC 1100-1300. (2) Bravo Zulu to S/M Jim Wallace for his work at the Puyallup Food Bank. Representing the FRA, American Legion, and VFW in getting toys out for the Toys for Tots drive. (3) Merry Christmas. Have a Safe, Healthy, and Happy New Year.
