Meeting held at American Legion Post 67 to accommodate attendees for the award ceremony.
1830 AMERICANISM-PATRIOTISM essay contest award ceremony preceded the April meeting. Ceremony
was followed with refreshments. 16 OF 18 awardees were represented. 62 personnel in attendance.
1920 Meeting was called to order with proper ceremony and the opening of the Bible. The following shipmates were present: Barrett, Batnick, Casto, Eller, Faubion, Felthouse, Heltsley, Mary Hrbacek, Jimenez, Jones, Johnson, LaChapelle, Leaf, McInerney, Pollard, Robbins, Santos, Shriver, Wilson, and Peters.
1921 The minutes were distributed to those not receiving via email. Minutes approved.
1922 Committee Reports:
Youth Activities: Spanaway Lake HS NJROTC Award ceremony 31 May, Thursday at 1800. Stadium HS NJROTC award ceremony 09 May 1700, S/M LaChapelle will attend and present. Bethel HS AFJROTC 12 May, S/M Johnson will attend and present. Rogers HS JROTC 28 May, S/M Barrett will attend and present.

Spanaway Lakes HS NJROTC was the lead unit and Color Guard in the Daffodil Parade for the Puyallup and Sumner routes.
Americanism/Patriotism: Awaiting results from National contest. S/M Barrett voiced concerns that there needs to be one point of contact for the essay contest at the Branch level to avoid confusion.
Per request from 14 May meeting. Minutes corrected to reflect more accurately what was said at April meeting concerning Essay contest point of contact. This is transcribed from recording at reference point 15min48secs: S/M Barrett “If I could make a request where it says sponsor – one point of contact ok because then you know where it’s coming from.”
Membership: 119 members in good standing. Remember when talking with perspective members, our Branch pays the second-year membership dues. So, for $40.00 new members get two years. Applications need to be forwarded through the Branch for this to happen. Wallet size membership applications available. Carry them and let’s increase our membership.
Public Relations: Website updated. Needs some minor tweaks.
Finance and Audit: Books audited by S/M LaChapelle.
Health and Welfare: Members on the binnacle list: Santos, Doskow, Leaf, Peterson, and Thompson. Chaplain Robbins spoke of FRA member Ron Nugent who suffered a stroke. Sending card in Branch name.

1946 Unfinished Business:
(1) NW Regional Convention 17-18 August in Boise, ID. S/M Johnson, Jones, and Faubion plan to attend.
(2) National Convention, 23-30 September, San Antonio, TX.
(3) Veterans Resource Fair at the Tacoma Dome, 28 April. 0900-1500.
(4) Branch Picnic, Combined picnic with the American Legion will be held at Veterans Park in Puyallup. Initially reported as 10 SEP will be held on 08 SEP. Start time noon.
1951 New Business:
(1) Memorial Day Celebration, Sunday, 27 May, 1400. Branch 104 will be participating with the Two Bell Ceremony.

2005 Good of the Order:

(2) Jim Heltsley, branch member, introduced himself. Not often we see some of our members from Olympia way. We hope you’ll make the drive more often.
2010 The meeting was closed with proper ceremony and the closing of the Bible.
